Cardio Workout

For a lot of people (including myself as of late) cardio can seem daunting… I’m here to tell you I feel your pain! It’s the same 40 minutes on the treadmill, or elliptical, or path outdoors. Well, to ease the “dread” of getting your cardio in,  I find that the best thing to do is: change it up. Variety can definitely trick the mind and muscles. It’s actually proven that by repeating the same exercises over and over, it can cause you to plateau. The body will do everything possible to maintain homeostasis, which is what may be experienced as a “plateau.” The answer is change. So, hopefully this workout can help confuse your body, end a plateau, and most importantly kick your butt!

This will surely get your heart rate pumping, and best part about it, you can do it ANYWHERE since no equipment is required!

1. Knee highs 20 REPS/ Mountain climbers 20 REPS
( countdown 18, 16, 14, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 2 )
2. Squat jumps 20 REPS
3. Elbow to hip jacks 30 SEC
4. Lunges 2/ Jumping lunges 4
( repeat 5 times )
5. Football high knees 10 REPS
